PNP’s new scientific fitness training program launched

Accepting the national challenge of PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa on Oplan Kill Bilbil: Slim Possible, a new scientific fitness training program for the police force in Region VI was formally launched on July 17, 2017.

PCSupt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, PNP Regional Director, led the formal debut of the Functional Fitness Training Program, a wholistic approach to fitness combining physical conditioning, yoga, mixed martial arts, calisthenics, gymnastics and plyometric workout in order to achieve desired body condition.

‘Hulbot’ fishers arrested in Concepcion

Fifteen fishermen onboard this trawlboat, a modified Danish siene, have been arrested by Iloilo Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force on Sunday (July 16).

ILOILO – Fifteen fishermen from Negros Occidental were caught using the forbidden trawlboat, a modified Danish seine, in marine waters off Baliguian Is., in Brgy.,Malangabang, Concepcion, Iloilo over the weekend.

Patients satisfied of services in Iloilo hospitals

ILOILO – The impression and experience of patients of the services in three remote hospitals here were satisfactory, according to a recent survey conducted by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Iloilo seeks prosecution of ‘hulbot’ fishers

ILOILO – The provincial government, through its Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force, is seeking the prosecution of the owners, boat captains and other high ranking officials manning the four hulbot-hulbot boats they apprehended this year.

Led by SPO1 Jose Ronnie Panes and PO3 Philip Canoso, the task force has filed criminal complaints against boat captains Herman Tanes et al. of F/B Bherry, Celso Zapa et. al. of F/B Julita and Ronald Santillan et. al. of F/B Rosal. Continue reading “Iloilo seeks prosecution of ‘hulbot’ fishers”

Illegal fishers fall in Concepcion, Carles

Fishermen catching fish using sinsoro and trawl were recently apprehended in two separate operations of Iloilo Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force in Concepcion and Carles.  

ILOILO – Eight fishermen have been arrested over the weekend for alleged illegal fishing in two separate operations in Concepcion and Carles towns here.

Operating within municipal waters, SPO1 Jose Ronnie Panes reported on Monday that these fishermen were gathering fish using round haul seine or “sinsoro” and trawl without permit from the municipal governments. Continue reading “Illegal fishers fall in Concepcion, Carles “

BLE to pilot test JobStart in Iloilo

ILOILO – The Public Employment Service Office of the Province of Iloilo has been selected as one of the 15 project areas for the implementation of JobStart Philippines Program this 2017.

Iloilo to pilot test counseling centers for couples in crisis

ILOILO – Couples having a hard time together can soon find guidance on how to keep their relationship intact in six selected towns here.
