PNP’s new scientific fitness training program launched

Accepting the national challenge of PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa on Oplan Kill Bilbil: Slim Possible, a new scientific fitness training program for the police force in Region VI was formally launched on July 17, 2017.

PCSupt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, PNP Regional Director, led the formal debut of the Functional Fitness Training Program, a wholistic approach to fitness combining physical conditioning, yoga, mixed martial arts, calisthenics, gymnastics and plyometric workout in order to achieve desired body condition.

The program is a collaborative effort of the PNP Regional Office 6, the Regional Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (RACPTD) 6, JCI Iloilo IlangIlang, Inc. and Storm Fitness Club.

It is aimed to develop competent, motivated, values-oriented and disciplined PNP personnel in Western Visayas by providing a more scientific training routine that will help them achieve their physical fitness goal as well as boost their self-esteem, thus, raising the bar of their performance at work.

The launching was marked with the signing of a memorandum of agreement between PCSupt. Binag, NEDA Region 6 Regional Director Ro-Ann Bacal who is Vice President of RACPTD 6,HayciaKamilAgudoOlivar, President of JCI Iloilo IlangIlang, Inc., and Marlon Val Jucaban, head coach of Storm Fitness Club.

Binag believes that the program will have the most comprehensive approach to fitness, thus, equipping the police personnel in Region VI with the most modern and functional mental and physical strength and alertness.
