ILOILO – Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. gave a total of P508,000 cash prizes on Monday (April 10, 2017)to top performing municipalities in treasury and assessment for calendar year 2016.
The awarding ceremony held at the ground floor of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol was part of the celebration of 116th foundation anniversary of the provincial government.
Gaining a maximum of P15,000 cash prize, the top performers in realty tax collection, prompt remittance of provincial tax shares, tax record management, and collection of annual fixed tax on delivery trucks and vans were the following:
Realty Tax Collection Category A
1st– Sta. Barbara
2nd – Barotac Nuevo
3rd – Dingle
Realty Tax Collection Category B
1st – Banate
2nd– New Lucena
3rd– Badiangan
Prompt Remittance of Provincial Tax Shares
1st –Bingawan
2nd– Cabatuan
3rd– Mina
Tax Record Management
1st – Estancia
2nd – Cabatuan
3rd– Mina
Collection of Annual Fixed Tax on Delivery Trucks and Vans

Meanwhile, Oton took the Hall of Fame Award in Tax Records Management and San Enrique got the special award for the most active municipality in the conduct of real property tax campaigns in barangays.
Mina bagged the award for the early submission of E-SRE reports, while its E-SRE focal person Nanette Dable was recognized as the most active focal person along with San Enrique’s RPT focal person Belinda Baban.
Plaques of recognition were also awarded to the province’s top real property taxpayers and top business taxpayers. Among these were the following:

2nd – National Irrigation Administration in Oton (P5-million)
3rd – Universal Robina Corp. in San Enrique (3.7-million)

1st – Coca-Cola Bottlers FEMSA Philippines Inc. in Pavia (P9.9-million)
2nd – 8990 Housing Development Corp. in Pavia (5.3-million)
3rd – Pepsi Cola Products Phils. Inc. in San Miguel (4.2-million)
The recognition of top performers in treasury and assessment is observed annually to promote productivity, particularly in tax collection and revenue generation and to encourage outstanding performance in different treasury services.
