ILOILO – Three local construction firms are vying for the concreting of 4.4-kilometer Poblacion-Bacay Road in Dumangas during its recent public bidding in Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
Of the three, G. Uy Construction submitted the lowest bid of P6,775,500, followed by MarchPhil Construction (P6,801,272) and J EG Construction Firm Corp. (P6,821,292).
The lowest bidder will undergo a post-qualification evaluation this week to determine if it met the requirements under the Government Procurement Reform Act.
One of those requirements is for the bidder to have an experience of having completed at least one contract that is similar to the project being bid.
The contract, once awarded to the most qualified bidder, is expected to be completed in 120 calendar days.
Spanning for about P4.4 kilometers, the concreting of the road has an approved budget of P6.83-million. It is among the priority projects included in the province’s 2015 Annual Investment Plan.
The source of fund largely came from 2014 Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) of P7-million, which the provincial government won from Department of Interior and Local Government’s Excellence in Local Governance Awards.
