ILOILO — Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. recognized the top ten performing municipal assessors who excelled in the delivery of assessment services here on Wednesday.
“You are all admirable. Your performance is truly outstanding. I hope you can inspire others to do the same,” the chief executive said during the awarding ceremony held in Casa Real de Iloilo.
Of the 43 municipal assessment offices here, Tigbuan ranked first in terms of their performance in administration and implementation of programs relative to assessment and appraisal of real properties for Calendar Year 2014.
Tigbuan Municipal Assessor Leonila Tupino, along with Mayor Suzette Alquisada, received the award from Defensor and OIC Provincial Assessor May Katherine S. Sullano.
Municipal Assessor Elnora P. Tabugo of Tubungan came second, followed by Municipal Assessors Catalina P. Salmeo of San Enrique, Dory P. Emelo of Mina, Riza E. Lapenig of Carles, Alfredo Y. Alas-as of Sta. Barbara, and Regina Rovig of Balasan.
Municipal Assessor Noel B. Robles of Calinog ranked eight, while Municipal Assessors Alma P. Castillanes of Bingawan and Nelida Octaviano of Zarraga came in ninth and tenth place, respectively.
Sullano said the recognition aims to motivate the municipal assessors to perform with excellence at all times.
“We started recognizing outstanding municipal assessors since 2015 and because of this, we have seen a lot of improvements in their performance, especially among those who were at the bottom,” Sullano stressed.
The municipal mayors of the top ten performing municipal assessors were also recognized for their support.
A special award was also given to the Municipal Assessor’s Office of Igbaras headed by Ramon Estuche for being the Most Improved Municipal Assessor’s Office in the Province of Iloilo.
The Municipal Assessor’s Office of Tigbuan was also recognized for exhibiting commendable level of 5S practices and obtaining the highest points among 5S implementers here.
The Municipal Assessor’s Office of Tubungan was also commended for attaining outstanding performance in the evaluation of report preparation and prompt submission of monthly and quarterly reports on real property assessments.
On December 2015, the Iloilo Provincial Assessor’s Office was awarded as the Most Outstanding Provincial Assessment Office in Western Visayas for Calendar Year 2014 by the Bureau of Local Government Finance.
The distinction came after the Provincial Assessor’s Office obtained the highest performance evaluation rating of 94.02% among the provincial assessment offices in the region.
The Provincial Assessor’s Office is responsible in the discovery, assessment and records management of real properties in Iloilo and other related functions as may be prescribed by law. JAN
