Capitol provides P1.7M loan to 6 cooperatives  


ILOILO – To help them improve their programs, Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. provided P1.7-million loans to six cooperatives here recently as part of the Provincial Livelihood Project Fund.

Of the beneficiaries, the District of San Enrique Public School Teachers and Non Teachers Multipurpose Cooperative, Leon Small Coconut Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Northern San Dionisio Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Pinili Development Cooperative in New Lucena received P500,000 each.

Cawayan Farmers and Consumers Multi-Purpose in Carles got P200,000 and Ban-ag Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Alimodian got P300,000.  Most of these cooperatives were into lending, palay trading and water refilling.

Since 2011, over a hundred cooperatives from all over the province have benefited from Provincial Livelihood Project Fund of the Provincial Cooperative Development Office.

The program provides three-year loan window to qualified cooperatives. The loan has six percent interest per annum and amortization starts 15 months after they get it. #2014News
