ILOILO – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Region 6 will be giving out boats and cash incentives to 213 fishermen who were affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda in San Dionisio this coming Thursday.
The turning-over ceremony of BFAR’s AHON Project will start at 1:30 pm in the covered gym of the town proper where Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. is expected to be the guest of honor.
The recipients of the boats will be coming from Barangays Agdaliran (15), Bagacay (21), Baybay (28), Borongon (16), Naburot (5), Nipa (46), Odiongan (16), Poblacion (19), Sua (23) and Tiabas (24).
They will all receive a total of P223,500 aid which will hopefully help them revive their livelihood.
Aside from the two perks, they will also get fishing gears – eight sets of 200-meter gillnet, 22 crab pots, 58 sets of multiple hand line and 188 sets of 400-meter gillnet.#2014News
