ILOILO – The surviving families of the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda can finally claim their burial aid here, announced Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. on Thursday.
Defensor said he has authorized Rosalie J. Palu-ay, chief of the Cash Disbursement Division of the Provincial Treasurer’s Office to release P1,190,000 for this purpose.
The amount will be divided evenly to select beneficiaries of the 119 casualties from 20 hardest-hit towns here.
The financial assistance came from the province’s calamity fund and it is separate from that of the national government.
To get it, the surviving kin of the victim has to present the latter’s death certificate and other needed documents required to establish their identities to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. The papers will then be verified by the PDRRMC. #2014News
