ILOILO – Israel’s ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Manashe Bar-on, is set to visit the province’s capital on May 12-13.
Bar-on’s visit aims to explore the beauty and culture of Iloilo and to further strengthen the diplomatic ties between Israel and Philippines.
The Department of Tourism Region 6 will facilitate his city tour and his luncheon meeting with local officials and businessmen.
The meeting, co-hosted by Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Iloilo Business Club and Iloilo Cultural and Heritage Council, is also expected to tackle business opportunities here and in Israel.
After this, he will visit the Central Philippine University, a private research university established in 1905 in Jaro, Iloilo City under the auspices of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society.
At 4:00 pm, Bar-on will pay a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. and a dinner hosted by the latter will follow.
On the following day, Bar-on will visit the University of San Agustin, another private founded by Augustinian friars from Spain in 1904 in Iloilo City.
The ambassador will then visit City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog before his return in Manila. (Jezza A. Nepomoceno/Capitol News)
