ILOILO – The Municipality of Mina in this province will host the regional launching of Philippine Health Corporation’s “Alaga Ka Program”, an integrated advocacy campaign for universal healthcare, on March 24.
Governor Arthur Defensor Sr., who will be among the guests, said the launching is the highlight of PhilHealth’s 19th anniversary that has a theme, “Benepisyong PhilHealth, Alamin at Gamitin”.
The launching, according to him, will provide venue for PhilHealth members to know their rights under universal healthcare and other services offered to them by the government.
When asked why PhilHealth picked Mina, he said that Regional Vice President Dennis S. Mas found the town’s institutionalized health programs fitting to the concepts of the program.
An estimated 4,000 beneficiaries identified through the Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and their dependents are expected to attend.
The launching will start at 8:00 am in the covered gym of Mina. (Jezza A. Nepomoceno/Capitol News)
