Bacolod’s outgoing mayor cleared of liability

BACOLOD CITY, June 21 (PNA) — Outgoing City Mayor now congressman-elect Evelio Leonardia has been cleared of the property issued to him during his stint as chief executive for nine years.

Surprisingly, the chair he was using in his office was the only property bought under his name by the city government, records from General Services Officer showed.

Aside from the outgoing city mayor, 11 out of his 18 executive assistants were also cleared by GSO.

They were Nilo Barcoma, Silvino Gallardo, Federico Guanzon, Jonathan Lobaton, Samuel Montoya, Vicente Petierre Jr., Butch Soliguen, Jose Villanueva and Ernesto Pineda.

Those who were not yet cleared were Rodel Parcon, Rogelio Balo, Edwina Javier, Moises Dela Cruz, Jose Maria Vargas, Elma Advincula, and Leo Bentinganan.

Unless the seven other executive assistants return the government-owned properties issued to them, they could not get their terminal leave benefits. (PNA)
