BACOLOD CITY, June 5 (PNA) — Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan is back as officer- in- charge of the Negros Occidental Police Office (NOPPO) after erstwhile OIC Senior Supt.Ricardo dela Paz was relieved from his post.

Lirazan was reinstated on Wednesday by Police Regional Office-6 director Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz, Jr.

De la Paz, who was relieved Tuesday, is now assigned as chief of PRO-6 Intelligence Division in Iloilo City.

Lirazan told the press of his return during his courtesy call to Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.

He said that his “marching orders” from the governor is to go after the financiers of the illegal gambling operations in the province.

He added that he will also look into the watchlist of operators and financiers that De la Paz previously disclosed.

“We will validate the names included in the watchlist (sic),” he said.

He added that he will not give quotas to the municipal and city chiefs of police as to the number of arrests for illegal gambling in their areas.

Marañon, on the other hand, told Lirazan to perform his duties effectively and with honor. (PNA)
