BACOLOD CITY, May 26 (PNA) — Defending champion Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA)-Ceres will face Iloilo in the Group B semifinals of 2013 PFF Suzuki National Cup in Dumaguete City this coming Tuesday.
Iloilo made it to the semifinals after defeating Cebu, 1-0, in Saturday’s elimination match.
Francis Solinap sealed its bid when it hit the goal in 57th minute just two minutes after he replaced Mark Sumabong, who got a yellow card at 41st minute.
Cebu’s tale ended with two wins, a draw and a loss or a total of seven points. Iloilo, on the other hand, had three wins and a loss for nine points.
Meanwhile, North Cotabato is set to clash with Davao in Group A semifinals also on Tuesday.
North Cotabato topped the Group A after defeating Baguio-Benguet, 3-2, in the elimination match.
North Cotabato earns ten points with three wins, a draw and a loss. Iligan- Lanao has three loses and a draw, while Baguio-Benguet has two loses and two draws.
The defending champion NOFA-Ceres got nine points for three straight wins in Group B.
Davao has six points with two wins and a loss ahead of Zamboanga-Dipolog with one win and two losses. Masbate had three straight loses.
The winners on Tuesday’s match will advance to the championship slated on May 30. (PNA)
