BACOLOD CITY, May 20 – The Commission on Election (Comelec) has dismissed the rumors of discrepancies between the results of automated elections and random manual audit (RMA) in Negros Occidental.
Acting Provincial Elections Supervisor Wil Arceño said that were seven teams who conducted RMA in the seven districts in Negros Occidental including Bacolod City.
This RMA teams were composed of public school teachers who were also members of the Board of Elections Inspectors (BEI’s) themselves, Arceño said.
The precincts that were subject for RMA were already pre-selected and there were no official reports of any discrepancy from the fields, he pointed out.
The provincial election official further explained that the RMA was made in order to confirm the results of automated elections.
Arceno was in Manila over the weekend to submit to the National Board of Canvassers the Certificates of Canvass and Statements of Votes for the senatorial and party- list, as well as the results of the local elections.
Meanwhile, Arceno reminded local television and radio stations to submit to the Bacolod City Election Office the copies of the contracts for political advertisements for review as required by law. (PNA)
