BACOLOD CITY, May 6 (PNA) — Defending champion Dynamic Builders still ruled this year’s North Football League (NFL) 1st Conference held at Talisay City, Sunday.
Dynamic Builders retained their championship title after defeating Ceres Liner, 5-4.
The match was packed with intensity that ended at 1-all in regulation and decided in a shootout after a 10-minute half extension lapsed.
Since the opening of the match, Ceres Liner was so aggressive paving way for their striker Joshua Fegidero to find his mark in the 22nd minute of the first half.
The goal delighted their team manager and transport magnate Leo Rey Yanson who said was confident that goal can lead the team to victory.
In second half of the match, Dynamic Builders kept their composure and engaged in many attempts until their midfielder Roland Ian Treyes had a goal that left keeper Michael Casas in awe.
Inspired of a deadlock, Dynamic Builders continue pressing Ceres Liner’s line of defense with at least six attempts.
Ceres Liner kept their poise and also made several attempts but missed. The team would have wrapped up the title if its first five strikers had steady hits but failed.
Dynamic Builders missed the first and connects two straight hits and misses again the fourth, but hit the fifth man for another deadlock.
Both team had two extra players in front of the goal, however, Ceres Liner strikers missed both of them, while Dynamic Builders connects to seal the game, 5-4.
Earlier, Silver Dragon placed third after overpowering Tri Maxi-Agro Football Club, 7-6, also in shootout.
The game ended at regulation 1-all after R. Canedo of Silver Dragon hit in at 12th minute.
But Tri Maxi-Agro, F.J. Serious responded at few minutes before the game ended at 64th minute.
This year’s Best Striker was Joshua Fegidero and the Best Midfielder was Roland Ian Treyes, both from Dynamic Builders.
Adjudged as the Best Goal Keeper was Michael Casas of Ceres Liner and teammate Ian Astilla as the Most Improved Player.
Dynamic Builders’ Camelo Tacusalme was awarded as Best Defender of the Conference, while teammate Jason Panhay as the Most Valuable Player. (PNA)
