BACOLOD CITY, April 21 (PNA) — Approximately 50 members of the tri-media in the Metro will avail of the absentee voting, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Provincial Election Supervisor Lawyer Wil Arceno of Negros Occidental said the members of the press who applied for absentee voting will vote on April 28-30, two weeks ahead of the regular elections.
Arceno said the applicants can vote from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.inside their office along Gatuslao St., Bacolod City. The local absentee voting will be done manually and not automated, he said.
Arceno disclosed the turnout of applicants for absentee voting here is smaller than what they expect since some refused to apply after learning that they cannot vote for their candidates in the local level.
Under the Absentee Voting Act, one can only vote for candidates in the national like president, vice president, senators and party-list representatives. (PNA)
