BACOLOD CITY, April 18 (PNA) — Roland de la Cruz, the first nominee of Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) from Negros Occidental, is confident of winning in next month’s election after leading the survey conducted by the Social Weather Station.
The largest labor union in the country that is currently occupying a seat in House of Representatives is preferred by 0.92 percent of the 1,200 registered voters nationwide.
SWS conducted the survey last March 15 to 17 but was only made public this week through various national newspaper publications.
“I’m very thankful for all the working Pinoys for their trust and support for the advocacies we are fighting for,” De la Cruz said in a statement.
Should be given a chance to return again in the Lower House, De la Cruz said the partylist will fight for decent salary, job security, social protection and protection.
He added that the recent SWS survey only shows that the Filipino people are vigilant in choosing the party-list groups that will represent them in Congress.
“Advocacy and track record of a party-list group are important parameters for the voting public, as well as the background, credentials, and credibility of the nominees who will represent the party-list in Congress,” he said. (PNA)
