BACOLOD CITY, April 16 (PNA) — Nine hundred eighty out of 2,043 Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines for May 2013 election in Negros Occidental are already in the metro, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Provincial election supervisor Atty. Wil Arceno said the rest of the PCOS machines from Metro Manila are scheduled to arrive here Tuesday evening.
The PCOS machines are under the custody of Comelec-Negros Occidental and locked inside their warehouses for safekeeping.
Once completed, Arceno said they will prepare the PCOS machines for its final testing and sealing on May 6, a week before election day.
Should there be any technical or mechanical trouble, Arceno said they have contingency plan or reserved PCOS machines to replace the faulty ones.
The ballots, on the other hand, will arrive either on April 21 or 22 here, according to the official. (PNA)
