BACOLOD CITY, April 15 (PNA) — After earning Php881,124 in just a week, Cadiz City was named as this year’s top grosser in the recently-concluded 20th Panaad sa Negros Festival here.
The Top Grosser Award is part of the activities for the Trade Fair and Exhibits organized by the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) from April 8-14 at the Panaad Stadium, Barangay Mansilingan, here.
The gross sales of the each of the participating local government units (LGUs) include the sales from specialty food, gifts or souvenir items, toys, hardware, furniture and agri-based products.
Cadiz City as this year’s top grosser received Php50,000 cash prize from the provincial government.
Also in top four were San Carlos City with gross sales amounting to Php488,520; Calatrava town with Php346,424; and Moises Padilla with Php124,620. The three LGUs received P20,000 cash prize each.
Meanwhile, Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. congratulated the winners, saying the showcase of Negrense products during Panaad is among the unique features of the festival which enabled small entrepreneurs and home-based industries to display their products to the global market. (PNA)
