BACOLOD CITY, April 5 (PNA) — Three police officers from Negros Occidental are in the running for this year’s Search for Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) of Metrobank Foundation.
Metrobank’s COPS is a nationwide search honoring gallant police officers who played an active role in maintaining peace and order in their respective area of assignment.
These three are Insp. Jovy Cabcaban of the Women and Children Protection Desk of Bacolod City Police Office, Senior Insp. Edilberto Deocades and Chief Insp. Rico Santotome of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office.
The three are among the eight police officers from Western Visayas who qualified for the search, according to Regional Public Information Officer Senior Insp. Sally Manuel. p>Others are Senior Insp. Jonathan Pinuela of Dumangas Municipal Police Station in Iloilo, Senior Police Officer 3 Joseph Agnate Jr. of New Washington Municipal Police Station, Senior Police Officer 2 Michael Pontoy and Police Officer 2 Nida Gregas, all in Aklan; and Supt. Alfredo Calamaan of Police Regional Office 6.
Of the eight qualifiers, Manuel said five of which are police commissioned officers and the three are police non-commissioned officers.
Manuel said the second phase of the screening process is presently ongoing and the proclamation of the ten winners will be released sometime in August.
COPS awardees will receive a total of Php 300,000.00 cash prize each, COPS Trophy, Metrobank Foundation Medallion and the PNP Medalya ng Katangi-tanging Gawa. (PNA)
