BACOLOD CITY, March 31 (PNA) — Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), declared the observance of Holy Week here “generally peaceful.”
“It is generally peaceful,” Ordaniel told PNA in text message following reports that no significant or heinous crimes were recorded here during the entire week.
The same report was also confirmed by Police Insp. Lester Leada, head of BCPO Operations and Plans Branch to PNA.
Just like in previous years, Leada said the Holy Week remained peaceful here due to BCPO’s intensified foot and mobile patrols.
BCPO recorded 25 crime incidents, including a shootout during the Holy Week in 2012.
The crime incidents last year were significantly lowered compared to 63 crime incidents recorded on the same period in 2010.
Most of the crimes recorded were physical injuries, robberies and thefts. (PNA)
