BACOLOD CITY, April 1 (PNA) — A total of 857 technicians started their training Monday to effectively man Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines for the May 13 midterm elections in Negros Occidental.
The training that will end on April 13 is being held at the Bacolod Pavillion Resort Hotel here.
The training includes topics on PCOS technical support, troubleshooting and contingency plan in case the machine bogs down.
Provincial Comelec Supervisor Atty. Wil Arceno said 33 of the trained PCOS technicians are expected to serve as supervisors.
The PCOS technicians are expected to stay outside the polling precincts and will only be called to service the machines in case of problem.
