ILOILO CITY, March 28 (PNA) — The management of Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC) assured the public Thursday of reliable and efficient power supply during the observance of Holy Week in the metropolis.
PEDC Vice President for Panay Operations Engr. Nilo Madrid said they have ample supply of coal in place and both of the units for 164 megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant have completed their preventive maintenance works.
He added that they are also ready to response in case there might be unforeseen power outages or interruptions.
The 92MW diesel plant of Panay Power Corporation (PPC) is also regularly maintained to provide feedback or back-up power at the most immediate time possible in cases of power interruptions, he said.
He also added that PEDC and PPC, both subsidiaries of Global Business Power Corp. (GBPC), are working closely with Panay Electric Company to provide a dependable power supply in the metro.
PEDC, the only baseload supplier in the Panay Island operates the 164MW coal plant in Barangay Ingore La Paz district while PPC operates the 92MW diesel plant. (PNA)
