ILOILO CITY, March 27 (PNA) — For the region’s top police, the Lenten Season is a time to pray and make sacrifices not only for the forgiveness of our sins but for our special intentions as well.
This, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz, Jr., director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), enjoin the whole Christian community in Western Visayas to offer a prayer and a sacrifice for a secured and fair elections on May 13.
“We believe in the power of prayer; and our prayer will be more powerful if we do it together,” he said.
He believes prayer is a potent instrument to make the May 13 elections a success.
Recently, Cruz assured the public that PRO-6 is ready for election duties.
He said the blueprint of the security preparations for May 13 elections is already set in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“Last Tuesday, we had our fourth coordinating conference and this will be on a regular basis in order to update our security measures,” he added.
To date, no election-related violence is recorded in the region.(PNA)
