Police set for intense raid to cripple illegal drugs in Talisay City


BACOLOD CITY, March 21 (PNA) — Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) in coordination with Regional Intelligence Division (RID) is intensifying its operations to cripple, if not totally eradicate, the proliferation of illegal drugs in Talisay City.

Intense raid is sustained following the arrest of four drug peddlers in a recent buy-bust operation therein.

Of the suspects, two are reportedly children of a retired policeman. They are Frederick Legada of Barangay V and his brother Nanerick of Barangay VII.

The rest are identified as Ricky Diaz and Frederick Demegillo, the companions of the two siblings.

A total of P10,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered from their possession and drug paraphernalia like scissors, aluminum foil.

Police operatives also confiscated one .45 caliber pistol, .380 caliber homemade pistol, one M61 grenade from the suspects.

The four suspects are now detained at the lock-up cell of Victorias City Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges. The confiscated items, on the other hand, are in the custody of NOPPO. (PNA)
