BACOLOD CITY, March 14 (PNA)– The League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) honored the outgoing City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia for his accomplishments that made the city grow vigorously.
LCP hailed Leonardia “for transforming Bacolod City as to what it is today—Vibrant, Liveable, (and) the Bustling City of MassKara Festival.”
Under his incumbency, LCP recognized that Leonardia made the metro as one of the most business friendly cities in the country.
In fact, Bacolod City was well-known for being the 2010 new wave city in business process outsourcing.
It was also the pilot site for People’s Participation in the recently concluded European-Union-supported Democratic of Local Governance Project in Southeast Asia.
It was also noteworthy to mention, according to LCP, that he made a mark when he transformed the city into a most child-friendly, champion in disaster preparedness, the cleanest and greenest.
For LCP Board of Directors, Leonardia was their energetic and charismatic Executive Vice President who served for three consecutive years since 2010.
LCP conferred the award to Leonardia during their recently concluded 59th General Assembly held at the historic Manila Hotel.
In his response, Leonardia expressed his sincerest gratitude to the mayors for the privilege to work with them in a personal, meaningful and productive way.
“I will forever cherish those memories and experiences I shared with each of you,” Leonardia said.
“Beyond the lessons in good governance and professionalism are camaraderie, friendship and personal relationships,” he added.
Leonardia also served as LCP’s National Vice Chairman from 2007 until 2010 and its Deputy Secretary General for Visayas in 2004 up to 2007.
The outgoing city mayor is currently seeking for higher position when he filed his candidacy for congressman.(PNA)
