BACOLOD CITY, March 7(PNA) — Two re-electionists congressmen in Negros Occidental vowed not to use any forms of illegal activities to win in the upcoming midterm elections during peace covenant signing Thursday here.
These candidates who showed their commitment for peaceful election were incumbent Reps. Albee Benitez of the third district and Alejandro Mirasol of the fifth district, both running under the ruling Liberal Party.
Benitez and Mirasol signed the covenant inside the San Sebastian Church here, also the venue of the previous covenant signing for provincial bets last March 1.
Standing as witnesses for the March 7 peace covenant signing were the representatives of Diocese of Bacolod, Provincial Election Supervisor Wil Arceno, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Director Senior Supt. Celestino Guara and 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Oscar Lactao of the Philippine Army. (PNA)
